Trolls on Treasure Island Proto For Trade *GONE*
09. Nov 2006 at 07:38

I don't feel like reposting the info and pics, so here's the link to the game finds thread I have on the subject:

http://www.nesworld.com/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.pl?num=1162876598

I don't want to sell it (unless it's an obscene amount, then I'm open to the idea), just trade.

Congrats first of all man, that's a sweet find. Smiley The licensed proto's are worth more then unlicensed proto's, i dunno how much to pin on this one but it would say between $65 and $125.
Ebay could give you some more maybe, i might want to trade with ya. Gimme a PM and we might work some out, remember the auction you lost last time? I have one more if interested! Wink

He's taking it based on the post where "someone" on NES World said it would fetch a ton of money if it was on eBay, so now there is this false sense of how much it is worth, happens all the time when people artifically inflate prices for the seller, and they don't even collect the products themselves.

I said it at forums, but I will say it here also.  I think you will be doing great if you can get 125 in trade value out of it.  Only an few people "really" collect protos.  Might get 150 on egay if you get a bid war started.

Actually, I wasn't basing it off that.  I was basing it on what some other people have mentioned to me.  Also how much it could fetch, but it is a pretty cool piece for a decent title that's relatively tough to find.  I'm not holding my breath on it, but I figure on eBay at the right time it could fetch around $200, possibly more if I'm lucky.  I just don't want to sell it, I'd rather it go to someone who collects protos.  I personally don't care that much about them, that's why it's available.  NGD's price is probably the true worth of the item, but when Hounder estimated it at almost double that, I would assume the market value is a bit higher.  And I didn't link the thread for the random comment, I linked it because I was too damn lazy to post pics on here again...why say the same thing twice.  I figured I could land a Cheetahmen II (which is another case of artificial market inflation), and maybe a couple boxes or manuals to CIB some stuff.  If someone offers more, all the better.
