After Collection is complete
15. Nov 2006 at 00:07

Just curious on what everyone will do after they complete their collection, or have already completed it?

Me... I have 400 + games, a wasy to go still, But I would go back through my collection and get better condition carts from a scale of 1-10 at least an 8. That may take a while, but while I do that I will also collect SNES and N64 games.

What will everyone else do?

It will never be "complete"  There will always be something I still need/want.

Well, I can't say I've had that "problem" yet but I'm far from complete.  However, as I'm collecting I keep finding new nitches and things to add to what my final goal may be.  I'm not sure anyone will every be done collecting as there is always something you don't have.  And whether you want that stuff now or not I'm sure someday it will intrigue you enough to get.  Smiley

BTW, good to see you Thefinaldaycomes.  Haven't chatted with you in a while.  Did you get moved and situated?  If you have time look me up in the nesworld chat sometime.  My computer quit allowing me access to that xs4all chat for some reason I can't figure out so I usually hang out in the main chat link on the top of the page.  See ya around.

That's why I snag variants, PAL releases, etc. whenever I find a good deal on them.  Once my NTSC collection is completed, I'll be moving off into PAL, variants, etc, so I figure that anything I knock off early is a bonus later on Smiley  Also, there's not the whole "I saw that back in the day...wish I'd've snagged it" feeling you get when you are looking for something you could've had at some point Tongue

Once I get the US releases of nes im done completed  eventhough im down to a handful of items Im not even to the point of insanity to pay  some of the prices ...I cant belive someone would pay 93.00 dollars for the box and manual to little samson...Ive never seen a complete copy go for more than 85.00..  But after i finish my US collections of the cartridge based games i want im finished....

Honestly, probably sit down and play some games.  I spend twice as much time cleaning and searching for games than I do playing them.  I'd like to have a complete set of PAL only games and a loose NTSC collection, but then again like everyone else has already said, there will always be SOMETHING that I don't have.

I have finished my NES collection five times over the last fifteen years. Then I stumbled on to Nesworld....and I am now collecting again. I don't think it can end! I am scared to death to see NGD's NES list. I'll never be done. Dang Hydron and Hong Kong carts!

That's what i mean, there's so much more to cover, variants and all. I think if you go for retail only it could be doable but if you include all we still have a long way to go.

I will not collect variants or manuals or boxes. I would love to get the boxes and manuals but I would never spend the kind of money you would need to, to get them all. I am happy with just the carts. It seems everyone else is goin beyond me collection variants, manuals, boxes, and other region games (pal etc.) So i guess I could be done and very happy about it, like I said I'll just step into the next system, I just LOVE video games. The NES will still be the best though. ALWAYS
