FC -> NES Adapter
12. Dec 2006 at 04:22

I apologize if this has been covered 100 times.  I searched the first 10 pages or so and didn't see anything.

I know that in some games like Gyromite, it was cheaper for the companies to just throw the FC chips in a Nintendo cart and put an adapter inside.  Unfortunately, my copy of Gyromite doesn't have the adapter inside, and I was wondering what other games might possibly house the FC -> NES adapter.  It would be a nice surprise to find it already amongst my collection so I didn't have to shell out for an expensive adapter.

Thank you in advance, and I hope I made sense.  I'm new to all this.

Try Donkey Kong. My copy didn't, but it was the right casing for it.

It's decreed that all Stack-Ups contain the converter.

Wow, I thought it was only Gyromite and Stack Up.  I had no idea you could find an adapter in that many games.

I had no idea MTPO or 1942 would have it. I'm surprised more other black label games don't have them either.

Before you start screwing around Grin, you might want to take a look at this:

Thank you.  That is just the information I was looking for.  I had most of the games on the list, but unfortunately, none of them had the sideways pins.  Oh well, back to the drawing board.  Thanks everyone!

Gotta love those hidden nuggets. Anyone have an approximation on a ratio between identical carts with or without the converter?

I've been hearing a million different ways of telling if a game has a converter inside, but with this info I finally decided to pop one open tonight.  Found a 5 screw Excitebike with the weird looking pins and sure enough, there was a converter inside.  Nice link.

Is it just me or does ExciteBike seem to be the next best game to open than Stack-Up?
