But it works FINE on my top loader. What the hell is going on? I even cleaned the connectors with rubbing alcohol, and that STILL didn't do SHIT.

What is it doing in the System..I think you have to disable Pin 4 to get it to work

Is the cart from the same region as the system?  If not, you'd have to disable the lock out chip like MarioMania has already stated.  This is something I always recommend even if you won't be playing games from a different region because it gets rid of the blinking screen problem toasters are plagued with.

But it works fine on my top loader. It always blinks and shows a gray screen when I put it in. It's a Tengen cart, and it says "Made in USA" on the cart.

It's because the Top Loader doesn't have the Lock-Out chip, Where are you from btw..Is it a PAL Toaster

Can't be a PAL toaster. I don't have any PAL cartridges (at least I don't think I do, pretty sure I have NONE, because none say "Made in Europe" or whatever). I'm from the US.
