Linus Spacehead's Cosmic Crusade

I know what you're thinking.

You're probably saying to yourself "They made a sequel to that piece of crap on Quattro Adventure?????!!!!!". Yes, unfortunately, they did. Unlike it's predecessor however, this one's actually not that bad. But it's also far from great. In this one, it takes place on Linus' home planet, and well, here's the story according to the game box:

Linus needs your help! He has no money, no car and no respect from his fellow Linomen! The trouble is, no one believed his tale of discovering a far away planet called "Earth", so it's your job to help him get back there and take some handy snaps! Starting from his home town Old Lino Town, it's cosmic gameplay all the way in a unique blend of adventure and platform action PLUS a whole galaxy of surprises thrown in! Absorb your senses in this giant Extra Terrestrial Odyessy, but keep an eye out for flying saucers in your front yard-you have been warned!

............................... :? Ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooookay, anyway, onto the gameplay:This one's like a point & click adventure game similar to Maniac Mansion. There's also these platforming sequences that re-visit the gameplay from the crappy original on Quattro Adventure, only this time, it's REALLY IMPROVED......slightly......well for one, Linus doesn't SLIDE as much after landing or stopping. Well, he does slide a TEENY WEENY bit, but not like he did in the first one! And he doesn't BOUNCE when you jump from a particular area, and land on the edge of a platform. MAJOR improvement here. VERY GOOD. But the game is still pretty hard though. I wouldn't say it's ridiculously hard like the original though! Luckily, this one has a password feature, and of all the Camerica/Codemasters cartridges I've played so far, this is the only one I've come across that uses a password feature. However, there are some bad points too:Linus STILL can't attack or kill any enemies like the first one, and, the music, the music for all the NES titles by Codemasters must be done by the same guy, because they all sound similar. I think of the Follin Brothers when I hear Codemasters music. It bears a SLIGHT resemblance to music they've done on NES games. Also, the story for this game was written by Peter Williamson, who also wrote the story or whatever for the first one, so I assume that he's Linus' creator. Anyway, I wouldn't bother hunting this one down. It's worth about 20 dollars loose. I'd recommend finding the ROM of it somewhere. On a scale of 1-5, I give it a 3. This game was also on the Sega Master System, where it was called "Cosmic Spacehead".
