The Price is Right and Talking Super Password
07. May 2007 at 04:39

Hey guys, I've been dying to know this question for years, and now with the new section this question definitely fits in. I know Nintendo was working on making games based off the game shows The Price is Right and Super Password (Super Password was even going to have a talking version...) on the NES, but they never materialized. My question is, does anyone know anymore info on them? Were there prototype cartridges made? Any in development screenshots made? Any reason why they weren't released? Thanks.

The Price is Right would've been awesome - I could see GameTek having released one of those. I'm sure everyone would use the 'ol 1 dollar-above-the-previous-player's bid trick. Tongue

I also remember reading that Press Your Luck, Card Sharks, and The $100,000 Pyramid were going to be made...I'm guessing since the by the team the late 80's came along, game shows were getting less popular, so they picked the surethings and easy games...

I actually have a Harlem Globetrotters proto with CES version of Super Password crossed out.

I met a guy working at Activision a number of years back who used to work at GameTek, and I brought Price is Right up to him, but he did not have anything available =(

Well that stinks...There HAS to be a prototype out there somewhere...the only problem is where. I really hope it can be found. Playing Plinko on the NES sounds just awesome.
