Seriously, i would like to see another rpg or adventure made.

I think Bregalad on nesdev is working on an RPG called Dragon Skills. I don't know anything else about it though.

Hmm do you have any info about the game? are there screenshots out?

I know it's wishful thinking, but I made a Flash version of an old Mac game developed by Oliver Dreer called "Diamonds" in 1991.  My clone of it was done in 2004.

If this could be an NES cart, that'd be so slick.  I posted a link to show it to people in a thread on the "General" board, but I guess I can post it here too.

I love that game!  Been many years since I played it...  Would be a relatively simple NES game to make for anyone just starting.  No scrolling, one sprite, easy mechanics.

I knew there was something familiar looking about your name, and I just figured it out.

Ahh, NES nerd catharsis.

Whatever game you decide to make, you should add "AL BAILEY" as an easter egg/cheat code. Awesome.

It's strange folks are discussing the game here as opposed to my post in the "General" board showing it...  Maybe I should delete that post.

You don't need a rom; it was ported to PC:

I've been trying for some time now to learn assembly.  The code seems simple enough, but I'm having trouble with assemblers, tile editors, etc.  All the ones I find either don't work or have no instructions and work strangely.  My game will be a ninja RPG with real-time battles.  Another cool idea would be a side-scroller based on Ghost in the Shell or Ninja Scroll.

Lucien,

For an assembler I would suggest CA65.  It's just my opinion, but it worked really well for me.
If you have Unix experience (like with make files, etc..) it's not bad to get going.  I installed cygwin on my PC to give me a Unix like environment.  If you need help getting it setup, let me know.

As for a tile editor, I wrote one in Java so if you have access to a JVM you can try it out.  Good luck figuring it out though.  I just add features as I need them.
