Does bubblewrap in the long run damage sealed?
23. May 2007 at 23:21

I have recently bought a few factory sealed games off ebay and I was wondering if it's safe to keep them in a shippin protector that has bubblewrap all the way around it on the inside. Will the plastic on the game in the longrun be melted to it or form a nasty pattern? Just wondering cause I want to keep them in mint. Thanks. Any tips on keeping them in great shape is appreciated.

In general, friction is bad for box corners, I think a lot of collectors store theirs in loose zip-strip baggies or special thin plastic shell boxes. The boxes are the best bet, since they're rigid and help to avoid another problem, impact damage. Even a slight impact from a thumb in the wrong place can cause a little warp, nick, fold or permanent bend. These things are actually more vulnerable than baseball cards in some ways because they have volume to them.

Other things to be aware of: direct light, dust, small children, and nuclear fallout. Smiley

There are worlds out there where the sky is burning, where the sea is asleep and the rivers dream; people made of smoke and cities made of song. Somewhere there's danger, somewhere there's injustice, and somewhere else the tea is getting cold. Come on, Ace, we've got work to do.

Smiley Haha, yes they're stored away from children but yes they are still in bubblewrap shipping bags. But do you happen to know of anyways I could get ahold of these NES hard box cases? I think I've looked on ebay awhile back and had no luck. I've seen many collectors have them but have no idea how. Any info will help.
