world:1 . David: -21.

My 22 year old friends warned me up and down that 21 is usually a crappy year for the individual.
I responded with the "yeah, whatever".
Ok?

lets recap what has happened this week:

1. girlfriend of 3 years, living together perfectly for 1 tells me that shes sick of being poor and wants to move back across country to live with parents/ finish school.

2. My dad calls me wasted and asks me what happened between us. (part of the previous year's divorce after 30 years, but that doesn't count).

3. oh, and my papasan chair just broke, as I type.

4. A co-worker sends mixed signals  and then tells me shes kidding (not that I care, but still..)

5. I saw a dog get hit last night while he was crossing a major urban city street.

I'm waiting for a combination of the following to happen:
grandmother dies
I go homeless
girlfriend cuts off my weeny while sleeping
my computer fails
I'm drafted
my girlfriend is attacked while walking to the bart (san francisco train station)
hitler rises back from hell
I'm forced to grow up

eh.

for anyone that hasn't turned 21, I wish you the best..

The whole year of my 21st birthday sucked balls too.  I have 5 members of my family die with a 7 month period.  My pet bird die, RIP NEON Cry and I was in a car wreck (nothing magor but still).  Maybe it just a werid coincidenace or something.....I never thought about it to this post.  I pretty much have bad luck in general all the time.  For every good thing that happens, something bad happens 3 fold over.  Huh

Hence why you don't join the army.  I don't want my big fat head shot at.  When do you deploy Jedi and for how long?

If you didn't want to go to Iraq, you shouldn't have joined the Marines.  Nobody forced you to join!

I became a Marine to serve my country.  Life isn't supposed to be easy.  If I wanted it to be easy, I'd have joined the Air Force.  But that's not me.  If I hadn't become a Marine I wouldn't have realized how many of the simple things I take for granted each day.  So it opened up my eyes.

Do I feel nervous about going to Iraq?  Hell yes.  Do I want to go to Iraq?  Who does?  But deep inside, I've always wondered how it really is out there.  You get an idea by the media, but I've always wanted to experience it first hand.

The year of me being 21 is nearing its close.  I must say, it really hasn't been that bad.  My girlfriend and I celebrated our one-year anniversary on the 4th of July (and will be celebrating 10 years of knowing each other in about the middle of September, one week before I turn 22).  I also officially started collecting NES on the 24th of March (at the exact halfway point between my 21st and 22nd birthdays).  I always live with the thought, "It could be worse".  I guess it's just me trying to stay positive whenever something gets me down (i.e. my job at Wal-Mart or trying to fend off a few random girls who are trying to hit on me...which most young men probably wouldn't try to fend off, especially when the girls are as decent-looking as they are in my case:  but I figure why risk a virtually sure thing for something that'd probably be gone in 2 months).  Those things, plus a few others...  When you think about it, my life really isn't that bad, though, and me being 21 hasn't been so bad either.

i spent my 21st birthday in the hospital recieving heavy doses of cheamo for 2- 3 months for lukeamia.

so yes my year of 21 sucked.

but now im 22 and got back in to all the things i like. such as old videogames, but mostly busy with finishing 2 of my vehicles.
a joint truck with a friend
and a load of work on his truck.

ah well its fun

women come and go in your life, and sometimes bad things just happen to you.  The best thing to do is learn from your mistakes, move on, and be better because of the incidents in your life--they do shape your circle of being, after all.
