Best NES system
20. Nov 2007 at 23:28

Hi all I'm bit of a noob to this site wondering what everyones favourite version of the NES was?

Personally I own
NES (EU)
Famicom (USA)
Sharp Famicom Twin (JP)
Dog Bone (USA)
Famicom (Square Button)

Of the lot my personal fav has to be the Dog Bone with the 10NES knocked out as standard  Cheesy

I only have 2 different versions.  What is the plural of nes anyway?  Neses?  NESS?  I don't know how that works.  Maybe NESI?  Anyway, I'm a fan of the toploader.  It works the best time and time again.  Then again the old toaster has worked for the past 20 years.  Well, 21 this Christmas.

Welcome to the forums, enjoy your stay here. I think the toaster is still my old time favourite. Toploaders give that irritating line on the tv with alot games. So the toaster all the way. Cool

My top loader gives me the least amount of trouble.  I can put just about any game in it and it will work right away (except for my Sachen carts but they are probably all broken).

I would say that the best system that is affordable is the famicom av.  I use it all the time and it works great and doesn't have the horizontal line issues that the american toploader has and it uses av instead of rf.

I'd love to have a famicom twin so I could play some disk games but the famicom AV is pretty nice and they were all manufactured up until like 5 years ago.  I got mine for $50 plus shipping plus I had to pay an extra $20 for a sturdy 60 to 72 pin convertor.

Can you guys post pics or links to some of these systems?
I have the toaster, yobo, and original top loader.   But I want to pick up some others (for testing purposes) and I'm not sure what the twin or AV are.

AV Famicom - It's basically a US toploader with an AV output instead of the RF.

...

Twin Famicom - Has both the Famicom and Disk system in one unit.

i have a few but only really tired carts in them to see if the cart input actully worked.

my best used system is my NES, "Nes Version - PAL" from the UK

all my australian mattel version nes-i have gone alright but seem to suffer after a while, which doesnt matter becuase i have quite a fewof them lieing around
