Feb 2008 at 00:48 I’m curious to here some predictions on what games you folks think will become rare and valuable from the PS2, GC, and X-box generation of games? Also, I wouldn’t mind hearing what games have already achieved that status.

Well I would like to start by saying the Rare games are usually not the fun games lol. I can see Gamecube games such as Cubivore becoming rare, Baiton Katoes, Sega Soccer Slam was fun for me. Games that were in low production and/or fun games are always the ones. PS2 I think will have a ridic amount. Games like Animal Crossing, Mario Galaxy, Geist, Lugis Mansion Resident Evil Zero etc... will be the high market I believe

Mar 2008 at 01:08 If I where you I would start collecting them...before you see Geist on ebay for 30$ lol. I already touched up my GC collection with a nice sealed WindWaker Zelda I am sure I will open it and Baton Katoes also sealed, Geist and Star Fox Adventures.

Mar 2008 at 07:36 what is the actual life span of a disc. i belive eproms last for a long long time. some of the old catridge games are going on 40 years. but disc games i have no idea. im going to collect for gamecube but i wonder how long they wiil be playable

Mar 2008 at 02:10 they will last forever as long as you take care of them. I dont know why people are like "how long will it last" like everything comes to an end. People are like the NES boxes are going to disinagrate? umm yeah in like 2000 years. If you take care of everythign they will work fine forever.

Mar 2008 at 17:43 Paper Mario for the n64's price might also go very high up. Even though you can play it on the Wii, it's probably going to be a major pain for collectors to try and get it soon.

No idea which games might become rare but I agree that with the advent of CDs and DVDs, "rare" in the traditional sense is probably not going to exist like it once did - things are too easy to copy and fake. The market for games will especially take a hit with all the people who will inevitably sell these copied fake game CDs on ebay.

Skipper:

If you don't take care of a paper-based item (including a game box), it will fade, become brittle, and/or develop mold within 100 years. To truly take care of things like paper boxes you need humidity, temperature, and light control.

Something can give the appearance of being "integrated" for a long time - that is, until someone touches it. Then it disintegrates right before your eyes. Brittleness is a real danger.

Want to now rare gamecube games?

The late releases of course,i think baten kaitos origins will be very rare! I had the game,played both parts and there great games,but origins was made in small numbers and sold VERY bad.(late release)
I dont even now if the pal version made it?It was planned(played the ntsc version)

Another rare gamecube game: zelda TP reason everybody wanted to play the wii version and this version was released later then the wii version(this wil be the gamecube version of paper mario 64 i think)

i think the games with stuff aded like that mario dans game and that flipper game that you played with microphone
