World Heroes for Famicom
28. May 2008 at 15:42

Just thought I'd post about a game that I bought from a guy in Hong Kong (2 copies, actually) for the Famicom:  World Heroes.  Does anyone know if this was released for any 8bit system or is this likely a port from one of the 16-bit releases?

The game itself is pretty cool, I played it a few weeks back and the graphics were pretty good for the NES.  Best of all, though, is the packaging IMO...it came with a high quality fold-out manual with drawings of all the characters with their moves listed.  Here are some pics:

Never seen this CIB. Cool. It's likely a hack of a Street Fighter port. I've been trying to figure out how Famicom fighter games work. There are tons of them, and most of them appear to be hacks of a few original ports, which is what I suspect for World Hero.

Martin, I'd love scans. I only have the cart.

The game itself is among the worst fighters and appears to be nothing more than a hack of one of the Street Fighter ports. I've been doing a heck of a lot of research into Famicom fighters and, of all I've played, this would come near the bottom of the list. There are something like 40 Famicom fighters --I'm estimating, -- though most are just hacks of earlier versions.
