your collecting habbits

just wondered how everyones collections are going. i myself started seriously collecting in 1999 but i dont think ive bought many old school games in the past 4 or so years, have to say i spend most my cash on my cars.
im still interested in buying nes stuff its a shame that the local pawn shops dont stock stuff that old anymore. tho saying that a local salvation army store sold me a boxed suergameboy convertor for 5 bucks.
i think finding cool stuff out there in the real world is pretty cool, ebay takes the hunt out of it

so is everyone still buying games whenenever they can or just taking it easy?

I have to many hobbies, and my money goes to one or the other based on what i am really into at that point in time. I was hardcore collecting NES a few years ago then i stopped. I recently started getting into it again though (always played the NES, just stopped spending money on my collection for a while). I also collect comics, play guitar in band, and have a muscle car that all require my attention. There are times when i think i should sell my NES and or Comic collection and concentrate on the other hobbies more. but i can never do it...lol

I have quite some games, but starting to sell stuff i really don't want. I collect obscure stuff like proto's and such. I have so many consoles and other stuff that i'm fed up with it. Also numerous doubles that i still have to get rid off. I'm a tad lazy lately.

I started collecting fairly recently, arround 2005 -2006 or so, but since then I've been buying TONS of NES goodness Smiley . I collect mostly CIB games but I've accumulated alot of loose carts as well, own quite a few rarities such as CIB little Samson, CIB Snow Bros., and CIB Bubble Bobble Part 2.

I guess I'll use this as my introduction post to the site as well Smiley. Cool site you have here, looking forward to meeting new collectors and seeing some familiar faces as well .

Welcome, Gimmick. Nice green font. I gave up on NES collecting a while back, since it got rabid, with people paying way too much for stuff. If it ever calms down, I'll jump back in. In the meantime, I'm focusing on Famicom.

Yeah, prices on NES stuff have gotten crazy lately, thats one of the reasons I like famicom as well. Most of the famicom titles are still pretty affordible and there are so many interesting games that never made it to the US. I collect a little of everything but Famicom and NES are my favs.

I've been collecting for years, but I kind of do the same, see what I can find in the wild unless I get a decent deal from a fellow trader on something.  I spend most of my time playing now, and doing reviews for a site.

Started picking up dev stuff again lately, also bought a PS3, yes i gave in finally. My interest towards new gen stuff has grown since a few months. But NES dev and other dev stuff will always interest me.

I started collecting NES around 2006. I started with 9 games from when i was a kid and now i have over 400...but I also have too many hobbies!
Between being in a band, restoring an old car i bought, living life and paying rent...i have slowed my NES collecting down...alot.
Its tough to find good deals for me now. I am at the point where i already have pretty much all the common games so now in order to buy the rarer ones i have to fork out some more money.

oh well c'est la vie Roll Eyes
