I found three NES prototype game cartridges
06. Aug 2008 at 20:22

Hey board,

I'm a fellow computer nerd collector, but usually I don't buy a lot of NES stuff (I'm a C64 guy). However, today I came across three interesting carts. A google for one of them brought me to this forum. I thought I'd share my find with you guys:

I found a Athletic World cart (PAL version, says "Sample game pak by Bandai" on the sticker)

...

And a Gold Medal Challenge cart (NTSC, says "NES (USA) Gold Medal Challenge" on the back sticker)

...

And Super Off Road (NTSC, says "NES-P-WU Nintendo, Super Off Road, Sample Game Pak By Nintendo" on sticker).

...

If anybody has an idea if this is a good find, I'd love to learn more about these carts!  Smiley

EDIT: the Athletic World cart plays in my old NES, the other two give the typical blinking that I get when inserting American carts. (I'm in Europe).

Well, I have been reading up on NES prototype carts, but I haven't decided on a price yet. So currently, you're free to make me an offer.

I really wished I had found something Commodore (64) related of the same collectors value. If you think you have something like that in your collection, I would prefer a trade over selling!

Can you open the carts and take a picture of the insides of them?

Uhh I only have very little C64 stuff and the stuff that I have has a history which makes it impossible for me to part with it.

But I have a CIB copy of "Guldkorn Expressen", C64 cartridge version I might add... I'm sure it's worth a buck or two?

I'm not looking for anything in particular, except original working copies of The Great Giana Sisters and Creatures I. Seeing that this is a slim chance, I think I'm better off just putting these carts on Ebay.

I have taken photos of the carts insides, here you go:

Unfortunately, Ebay took these auctions offline, so I'm selling these by myself before next saturday. Get in touch if you're interested!

I listed a TON of C64 stuff just the other day on ebay.  not really loooking for these NES protos, but if I can help someone here snag one i'd be more than willing to help out in some way.
