for starters on developing an NES game
15. Mar 2009 at 02:12

I wanna try to develop a game, but also bypass the size limit and color limit of character sprites. I know that the max sprite size is 8x8, 8x16, and the color limit for sprites is 4, but I'd like to get around that. Games like Shatterhand, Bionic Commando, Megaman, Battletoads, and Metal Storm are able to do this, having large character/object sprites with palettes of 5-6 colors.

If anyone who is an NES game developer/maker with specified knowledge of this, I am open for answers. Anything will be appreciated!
