Another NES release?
17. Nov 2009 at 19:17

With all these clones being released, why isn't Nintendo relaunching the NES.  I believe it would be a profitable venture, as old games are fairly cheap and can be found anywhere from the internet to flea markets.  Plus an 8-bit system would surely cost under 80 dollars; much cheaper than a Wii, X-Box, or Playstation.  Not to mention the nostalgic value of owning a working authentic NES.  I know that with internet capabilities of new systems, old NES games could be played again; but what about those who can't afford a 300 dollar Wii.  Besides playing old cartridges and collecting them is all part of the fun.  A possible name could be the NES 3, the third after the short lived NES 2.  In short, with clones everywhere there is a market I believe Nintendo needs to tap into.  Retro gamers want to play ORIGINAL cartridges on an AUTHENTIC and WORKING NES.

A new, old nes would not sell im afraid.
If they would ever do such a thing they would have to update the nes to compete with the old nes consoles.
Online gameplay aded or something like that.

But i don't think nintendo would do that. They never look back at there old consoles and there trying to cash in on there virtual console.
(for that reason they remove the nes games in animal crossing,to name a exsample)

Exactly.  They rightly see their highly-profitable virtual console as the best way to cash in on 8-bit nostalgia.  Virtual Console games are crazy cheap to distribute, can be sold for a price people don't mind paying, and are a continued source of income on old IP.  They don't want NES consoles out there.  They want to make money off the games!

Additionally, virtual console games are a renewable resource for them.  In another ten years, they'll be able to sell the same games in download form again.
