The game or slot needs to be cleaned

The game or slot was cleaned incorrectly

The slot is wide and loose and pins needs to be pulled inwards.

Reset button might be pulled outwards.

The pins are loose in the back and needs to be pressed in.
Which is just unscrewing the cover, and using your hand to push them in.

Otherwise I do not know.

Sometimes a reset indicates the CIC security chip is acting up.

Any chance you are playing a game that is for a different region than your NES unit?
