SGNP [Shatterhand Graphic Novel Project]
22. Aug 2012 at 20:25

Hey all of you NES fans,

I have a big goal to make one of the most underrated NES games into its own graphic novel, attempting to bring it's sheer glory back to life and hopefully to trigger a chain reaction. The NES game Shatterhand was released back in 1991 and was overlooked because during that time, everyone was converting to 16-bit consoles, particularly the Super NES and the Genesis. Shatterhand was one of the best NES games to be ever made. I love it more than Super Mario Bros. Yup. You didn't skip a sentence. Also, it was ignored because of its cheesy art cover, but the game itself is amazingly awesome. I loved it so much as a kid and I still do today. That is why I've decided to give up my anime hobby (and thank god I am) to bring Shatterhand back to life. I am currently working on a graphic novel project for the ultimate badass himself. If you're not totally convinced by my goal, check out the SGNP group on Facebook for activities on Shatterhand and the graphic novel. I also have a YouTube channel under the name RileySkye100 where I post some videos related to Shatterhand. Another place with Shatterhand activity is SoundCloud, where I post some awesome tunes and remixes of the music from Shatterhand. I am about to enter my second year at college where I applied for a class that will help me improve my art skills again so that I can get the first graphic novel book on a roll and completed. I can really use a lot of help and support to increase my motivation on this project and get something good out of it. If you want more information on the project or participate in it, check out the SGNP group on Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/groups/274274945996084/

My YouTube channel: RileySkye100
[with the new channel Shatter Nation coming soon]

and my SoundCloud channel: SGNP

I hope you find this interesting and I hope to see you guys at these areas of interest. I'll post new information on this site to update on the project. If you have any questions or comments on this, feel free to speak them out. Until then, keep it real.

If you can make a web comic, comic book, or even something that runs in a magazine it would be great. However you advertise this sequential art, is however you advertise it.

I was looking for this game a couple of days ago, too.

Advice from a librarian:

If you're going to do it, go whole-hog.  Which means be prepared to sell the finished product.  Which means, check with the United States Patent and Trademark office, and anywhere else that might be relevant, and make sure the copyrights or whatever have expired.  Box art is copyrighted work, as well, so don't copy that too close and put it in the finished product.

Good luck!

People makes all sorts comics all day long. Just be natural and do your original intentions, do not let anybody throw you off,
while doing this piece. If you do it from memory, or even the game artwork, you wont have to worry about that stuff at all.
I do not think anybody really cares anytime soon. That thier is not enough information as well, for this project to care for.
