Datel Mysterious Orange Thing

Martin,

Hello! I was recently shown your page for the mysterious orange thing you purchased from Norway. Listed here: http://nesworld.com/n64-dateltrainercart.php

It’s made by Datel, and it uses the exact same GAL as the N64 Gameshark. This means that you can connect that to a Sanni Cartridge Reader and dump the firmware from it for preservation purposes using the “flash gameshark” function in the n64 menu. Simply turn the cartridge reader off once it makes the backup. Is this something you would be willing to try? I’ve been collecting Datel firmwares and have nearly all of the various N64 ones preserved and available online.

Hi

Wow, I have not used the forum for years, I was surprised to find a new post here Smiley

Unfortunately I do not have a Sani cart reader to make an attempt to dump the firmware.

Hi,

No worries, I’ve sent you a message and hopefully we can work something out. It would be great to preserve this device
