The Nes Journal WAS closed in September 1995 because no one really cared about a NES fanzine. But things seems to have changed so here it is again, the NES only fanzine with reviews, game tips, replay and genie codes and loads of other cool stuff. I've planned 3 Nes Journals, and if they become popular I might make some more. Nes Journal used to have a release date which were the first week every month, but the next 3 won't have that so you just have to keep your eyes open if you don't wanna miss the next Nes Journal. If you have anything that you want to contribute with, you're more than welcome to e-mail (i1q@dc5101.aalborges.dk) it to me. I've always been looking for this game because i've heard nothing but how great this game is and that it's one of the great classics. Ok.. the game is nice, but it also does look a bit too old. When Nintendo rereleased this game in 1989 they could have given the game a better sound. The sound (umm.. noise) in RAD RACER is awful and the only sound there is, is when the car is driving and you change gear and so. The game could use some cool music, I know that the NES don't have one of the best sound chips but it can do better than this. In the game you can choose between a Porche 328 twin turbo and a F1 racer. The Porche is the easiest to controll, so it should be the best one to start with. The game run smoothly, but the sound is still very annoying, and the changeing backgrounds are cool. There's 8 different stages in RAD RACER, each whith about 5 laps. Still i've not yet found out how to use the 3-D glasses, so if anyone know how.. please tell me. :) This game is a classic, so you should do everything in your power to get your hands on this game. I had to get my copy from spain. :) RATINGS. ________________ ________________ __________________ | | | | | | | GRAPHICS : 80% | | SOUND : 15% | | PLAYABILITY: 85% | |________________| |________________| |__________________| ___________________ __________________________________ | | | | | LASTABILITY : 80% | | OVERALL : 85% | |___________________| |__________________________________| - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - ASTERIX CART SPEC. The Romans have capture and taken him to an unknown destination. Your mission is to find Obelix before Cesar throws him to the lions (poor things..)! This game is one of the best platform game i've ever played. The graphics are so cool, and the music is excelent. But the game has a minus, the game is too easy... 2 hours after I got the game I completed it, even on hard level. Another cool thing about the game is, that you can play it on 5 different languages (English, French, Spanish, German and Italian). Though there aren't much to read through the game. I got my copy from France.. the instruction manual is Spanish/French and I can't read any of those languages :(. I don't know which countries you can get this game, but if you can find it... THEN DON'T THINK TWICE IT.... See the box and screenshots on NES WORLD. Nintendo estimated it lost more than $1.3 billion in sales to piracy in 1995 alone. More than 75 U.S. companies that create, license and sell Nintendo video game products joined Nintendo in making the recommendations filed under the Special 301 provision of U.S. trade law, which protects U.S. copyrights, trademarks and other intellectual property. Taiwan remains the largest source of counterfeit video game products in the world. Nintendo said Taiwan should be kept on the Special 301 'Watch List' because it has failed to fully comply with two trade agreements with the United States in which it pledged to strengthen its efforts to stop counterfeiting. Taiwan continues to supply counterfeit video game chips to Taiwan-owned factories in China that assemble finished video game products for export around the world. 'We're disappointed in the slow rate of progress in Taiwan to combat counterfeiting,' Lynn E. Hvalsoe, General Counsel of Nintendo of America Inc., said. 'The time has come for the Taiwan government to put an end to rampant piracy.' In its filing, Nintendo and the other companies urged retaliation against China for violating its year-old agreement with the United States to initiate tough actions against counterfeiters. China's failure to fulfill its commitments under the Feb. 26, 1995 agreement 'has resulted in continued huge losses to the Nintendo video game industry,' Nintendo said. 'Unfortunately, China's agreement with the United States to crack down on video game piracy and protect intellectual property rights has had very little impact,' Hvalsoe said. In its Special 301 comments, Nintendo also cited Hong Kong, which continues to serve as a 'go-between' for Taiwan counterfeiters who send counterfeit video game chips and other components through Hong Kong to their assembly plants in China. The factories assemble completed counterfeit video game products and reexport them to Hong Kong for sale there and in markets around the world. Nintendo asked that Hong Kong be placed on the 'Watch List' for its failure to stop the flow of counterfeit goods and for not imposing strong penalties on counterfeiters. Nintendo recommended that two Latin American countries -- Paraguay and Venezuela -- be placed on the Special 301 'Priority Watch List' and that two others -- Argentina and Panama -- on the 'Watch List.' Nintendo identified Paraguay as the 'smuggling capital of the world' and said a flood of counterfeit Nintendo video game products from Taiwan, China and Hong Kong continues to enter Paraguay through its notorious free trade zone of Ciudad del Este. The counterfeit products are then exported to Argentina, Brazil, Uruguay and other South American countries. In Venezuela, counterfeiters control 70 percent of the video game market, largely because the government has allowed pirates to unlawfully use Nintendo's trade name, copyrights and trademarks for years. Nintendo estimated it has lost more than $200 million in Venezuela since 1987, primarily from infringement by a single counterfeiter. The company blamed Venezuela's 'antiquated, inefficient and ineffective' legal system for not protecting the rights of Nintendo and other intellectual property owners. In Argentina, almost all of the counterfeit Nintendo video game products sold are imported from Taiwan, China, Hong Kong, Paraguay and Panama. Argentina lacks strong border controls to halt the illegal imports, and its courts have refused to impose tough criminal and civil penalties for copyright and trademark infringement, Nintendo said in its Special 301 comments. Another country, Panama, has become a haven for counterfeit merchandise that flows through the Colon Free Trade Zone (CFZ). Counterfeit products and other illegal goods move through the zone to other Latin American countries and to Europe. Nintendo and its publishers have waged an aggressive campaign against video game counterfeiting for more than a decade. They have worked with the U.S. Customs Service and with customs officials and law enforcement authorities in Western Europe, Latin America, the Middle East and Asia to combat counterfeiting. Nintendo also has brought legal actions against hundreds of video game counterfeiters in more than 30 countries. ________________________________________________________________________ NINTENDO APPOINTS NEW DIRECTOR REDMOND, Wash., February 22, 1996 -- Nintendo of America Inc. today announced the promotion of Mark Westcott to Director, Advertising and Promotion. NINTENDO RELEASES NEW PORTABLE?? A roumor is circulating that Nintendo plans to release a new handheld system within two months. Details are very scare. All that is known is that this portable will be somewhat bigger than the Gameboy. It's not known wether the system will be SNES compatible or even in color. ENIX IS SHUTTING DOWN It's a fact that the compagny that has brought us Dragon Warrior and countless other cool games in closing down. What does this mean for Nintendo fans? Square will only be releasing a few more SNES games before switching to Sony Playstation. Enix was the only compagny left that could produce quality RPGs for SNES. Nintendo may now produce their own RPGs, but from what we saw in their last RPG, the qality will not become the same as Enix'. We'll just have to see what's gonna happen. MEGA MAN FILM ROUMORED TO BE IN PROGRESS A roumor is out that Robert Rodreiguiz, the director of "From Dusk to Dawn" and "Desperado" has recently hinted in an interview that he's working on a film "based on a videogame" and "about a robot revolution". This is prtty convincing evidence, and Capcom does not deny it, though they refuses to give any details. If this comes to be, it will certainly be very cool. More info will follow as soon as we get some hard facts about this. SQUARE WILL DEVELOP FOR PC!! Squaresoft has announced that they will develop Secret of Mana, Chrono Trigger and Final Fantasy III for PC. Unfortunately No release dates were given. ________________________________________________________________________ + - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - + | GAME CONVERTERS - FOR THE NINTENDO ENTERTAINMENT SYSTEM | + - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - + GAME KEY ADAPTOR By : Horeleg (Sedimex S.A.)
